2021 Wishlist

I really am trying to spend less this year, especially on random little things (because let’s be real, those little things add up), but if I am going to make a purchase, I want it to be more intentional and something that I will actually be sure to get lots of use out of. Some of these things will likely carry into next year, but if I’m good now and actually stick to my self imposed no buy, I’d really like to treat myself later this year.

This year’s list falls into a handful of categories: clothing, accessories, handbags, and around the house. You’ll notice that one category far outweighs the others but… that’s not what’s important!

2020 Faves

2020 sucked, but some good stuff came out of it! Being limited to staying in the house most of the year really turned my focus towards the things that could keep me entertained and sustained while sheltered in one place.

Mexican Gothic by Silvia Moreno-Garcia – This book was so good that I read it in a day! It was so good that I read it again a month later in October. I couldn’t stop thinking about it when I was done and honestly, I want to read it again now. It’s so beautifully written and the climax is insane! I highly, highly recommend. Without giving too much away, it’s creepy, suspenseful, a little mysterious… that’s a terrible description, but trust me, it’s good. Two other books I really enjoyed last year were Circe by Madeline Miller and Piranesi by Susanna Clarke.

Review: YSL New Wave 181 LouLou Sunnies

Review: YSL New Wave 181 LouLou Sunnies

I’ve been after these sunnies for over two years now. I can’t even recall where I first saw them, but I knew as soon as I did that I had to get a pair. While I know that sun protection is super important for your eyes, I’ve never really stuck with a pair of sunglasses because I wear prescription glasses and the styles I like aren’t available to put my prescription into. Designer sunglasses also have terrible resale value, so I’ve always hesitated to make that jump, but I am so glad I decided to treat myself for my birthday this year (and honestly, who buys things thinking they will sell them later down the line?). I purchased mine at the local Saks Fifth Ave but you can also find them on YSL’s website. The color ways change each year and season, so you can check online to see what the new versions look like if there isn’t one you love for sale currently.

Things I Hope I Love in September

Things I Hope I Love in September

Being quarantined has reminded me of the time I worked a four on four off schedule. While I had a lot more days off back then, I found myself at home and browsing Instagram and my favorite shops constantly. I did a lot of shopping and you would think that not being able to visit stores would prevent doing that, but oh man, over the last few months it has certainly gotten done.

Makeup, masks, knick-knacks… I didn’t discriminate. Because so many of these things are less than a month old, I’m really hoping I love them (or can get my money’s worth from them) in the long run!
