2021 Wishlist

I really am trying to spend less this year, especially on random little things (because let’s be real, those little things add up), but if I am going to make a purchase, I want it to be more intentional and something that I will actually be sure to get lots of use out of. Some of these things will likely carry into next year, but if I’m good now and actually stick to my self imposed no buy, I’d really like to treat myself later this year.

This year’s list falls into a handful of categories: clothing, accessories, handbags, and around the house. You’ll notice that one category far outweighs the others but… that’s not what’s important!

2020 Faves

2020 sucked, but some good stuff came out of it! Being limited to staying in the house most of the year really turned my focus towards the things that could keep me entertained and sustained while sheltered in one place.

Mexican Gothic by Silvia Moreno-Garcia – This book was so good that I read it in a day! It was so good that I read it again a month later in October. I couldn’t stop thinking about it when I was done and honestly, I want to read it again now. It’s so beautifully written and the climax is insane! I highly, highly recommend. Without giving too much away, it’s creepy, suspenseful, a little mysterious… that’s a terrible description, but trust me, it’s good. Two other books I really enjoyed last year were Circe by Madeline Miller and Piranesi by Susanna Clarke.

Living Room Makeover

May of this year marked three years in our first house. If you took a look around before late last month though, you would think we just moved in. There weren’t boxes everywhere, but we really hadn’t settled in or made any permanent changes to the way it looked as an empty potential purchase. Over the last couple of years, I have created Pinterest boards galore for each and every room in the house, but it wasn’t until recently that I decided to actually get to work making the house feel like our own.
