Season two of The Mandalorian is in full swing, making my (and really, every other Star Wars fan’s) entire year. As a lover and collector of makeup I knew I had to get my hands on Colourpop’s The Child palette the moment they announced it. My husband rolls his eyes about it, but if a Star Wars makeup product is released I am obligated to buy it… this is the way. It was released initially late October, and as of right now it is sold out online, but it should be released in stores at some point this month for $16.
It has nine shadows with finishes including matte, metallic, and even Colourpop’s super shock formula. Overall, it’s pretty neutral, and honestly perfect for the holiday season because the deep brown shade (Droid Protocol) and golds are to die for and would look great paired with a deep rust color!
As usual, the formulas featured in the palette are delicious! The colors build beautifully and I didn’t find that the mattes skipped any. There was a bit of kickback in the palette itself, but for the most part, fall out on my face was limited to the super shock shades. The Force was the messiest, but I found that it was really only when I was using a brush and patting the shadow on first cut the fallout back significantly.
I got two of them when it first launched and I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t thinking about picking up another for an extra back up. I really hope Colourpop does more Star Wars collections or even just a full Mandalorian collection. I’d love to get my hands on an Ahsoka themed palette! At just $16, I feel like even if you aren’t a huge Star Wars fan, the color combos are super gorgeous and could really round out your eyeshadow collection if you are in need of some greens.
Let me know what you think of the two looks I created! I’m way out of practice with elaborate looks and greens aren’t exactly my go to for eyeshadow, but I couldn’t pass this release up. What Colourpop collection would you not be able to pass up? I would love to know!
