2015 was an amazing year. I definitely didn’t stick to some of the things I promised myself I was going to do (or really any of them, let’s be real) and things still turned out better than I could have ever imagined. I know next year is only up from here, despite some setbacks, but I wanted to share my five biggest moments in the order that they matter most to me.
2015 will always be the happiest year of my life because I got married. Planning a wedding was my least favorite event of the year, but the ends justified the means. We had a small, intimate ceremony at my parents’ old house with our immediate family and some of our closest friends.
If you’ve been living under a rock, you might have missed that the seventh installment of the Star Wars saga was released a few weeks ago. Hubby and I managed to get tickets to the premiere event at Disney! We have so much amazing swag and we had such an incredible time. I think that after my wedding, it’s the most amazing day I have ever had. I fully intend to devote an entire post to what we did in the future.
It took an insane amount of summer credits the first session of summer classes in June, but I officially finished my undergrad! I think the most amazing part of it all is I managed to finish with no debt and for that I have to thank my amazing parents. They kept me in line! Eventually, I want to go back for a masters, but for now, knowing that I accomplished four years is a great feeling.
I moved out of my parents’ house! Sure, it was to move into my first apartment with my husband, but having my own place was a major event. Sadly, just seven months after moving in, we are moving out and up to North Carolina, but I’m proud that I was able to decorate my own place and create my own space.
When I first started working for Disney almost three years ago, I was 100% convinced I would never need another job for the rest of my life. Of course, returning to school was a priority and Disney was placed on the back burner. After getting married and my husband finding a job close to Orlando, we made the move closer and Disney was once again my full time job. I was excited, but once I got back to work I realized I didn’t feel the same way about things. I will always love Disney and going to Disney, but I no longer wanted to work there and as torn as I was to admit it… I realized it was okay. A job I started my sophomore year of college does not have to be my career and even if it’s for a company I love, I don’t have to work there to love them. Because we’re moving, I can no longer work at the parks as much and I didn’t feel like it was worth while holding on, so I let go. Not only that, but I can finally wear whatever nail polish I want!
There’s less than a week left in the year and as much as I loved it, I’m excited to see what 2016 has in store for me! What were some of your favorite parts of 2015? I’d love to hear about them in the comments.
